
Triennale Design Museum – Kitchen & Body Snatchers
On the occasion of Milan Expo 2015, Barazza has been selected to take part with Lab and Wolo hobs in the eighth edition of the Triennale Design Museum that offers Kitchen & Body Snatchers.
The idea was born from a collaboration between Silvana Annicchiarico and the Triennale Design Museum and inspire ‘the science fiction book’ Invasion of the Body Snatchers ‘, written by Jack Finney in 1955 and which’ was filmed by Don Stegel the famous and innovative film.
In the book and ‘all clear aliens slowly become “conspirators” who can mingle and creep between the inhabitants of the earth, come in everyday human beings and will dismantle the habits, the certainties, implement a real revolution, an upheaval social, cunning and devious aliens mingle humans taking on the form to be able to take the absolute upper hand.
From here the parallelism Kitchen & Body Snatchers want to do, or tell the slow, inexorable but sometimes convenient transformation of kitchen utensils machines and automata.
Kitchen & Body Snatchers speaks of this fleet of invaders who, from the mid-nineteenth century with the advent of industrialization, it flooded our lives by replacing the classic human practices of cooking.
The intent of Kitchen & Body Snatchers is trace the evolution in Italian kitchens and appliances, from the beginning to the present day, and it also does in relation to incidents of international design industry.
